The "Company History" page is usually the dullest page on any website. However, Apollo have been around for a few years and can reasonably claim to be the longest established sameday courier company in Sheffield (unless Courier International are still around), so please allow us the indulgance of the next few paragraphs.
Apollo commenced service in Yorkshire in 1993 under the name of Apollo Despatch and as part of an expanding franchised business with 7 offices around the UK at that time, including 4 franchised offices.
In 1995 the original franchisor sold its business to Hays Commercial Services and the Company became known as Hays Apollo Despatch. It continued under this banner, servicing many of Hays Blue Chip clients until 2001 when the Hays franchise was dissolved due to Hays ending its involvement with franchised businesses. The existing group of seven franchisees continued the business under a new brand, Apollo Distribution Solutions.
Apollo was one of only four sameday couriers in the Sheffield area in 1993 and has continued to expand over fifteen years and is now the longest established sameday courier service in Sheffield. In an increasingly competitive market we have sustained growth levels to achieve a customer base of over 500 businesses. We are now in the top 3 courier companies out of over 50 currently servicing the Sheffield area (based on turnover and size of fleet) and with 3 "staffed" offices in Yorkshire, we have the most comprehensive coverage in the area.
There are a total of 8 offices around the UK operating under the same brand name of Apollo Distribution Solutions and although each are individually owned and managed there are close operational links in order to fully service our clients needs and maintain the quality of service associated with our brand.
